At Ragnar we are passionate about children’s health and fitness and are pleased to announce the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford as the official Ragnar Relay New England charity. For 150 years, BGCH has been in the forefront of youth development, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances. BGCH serves over 4200 at-risk youth in the city of Hartford and is dedicated to ensuring that the community’s disadvantaged youngsters (ages 6-18) have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and positively shape their futures.
There are two different ways you can help Ragnar raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club:
1. As an alternative to recruiting your own volunteers, teams may pay $120 per volunteer to have volunteers recruited for them. All net proceeds from this program will benefit the Boys and Girls Club. For more information click here.
2. We encourage teams to fund raise and donate to the Boys and Girls Club. The team that raises the most money will receive a free team entry to any remaining Ragnar Relay races in 2010 or a free team for the Ragnar Relay New England 2011 and 3 volunteer credits. The second place team will receive 25% off any remaining 2010 race or Ragnar Relay New England 2011 and 3 volunteer credits. The third place team will receive 3 volunteer credits for any remaining 2010 race or Ragnar Relay New England 2011.
